I offer two shapes of proofing basket, a round and an oval . My go-to size is an 875g oval, but hey, some prefer the round!
The oval basket is for loaves 750 – 1000g (875g sweet spot)
The round is for loaves 650 – 900g (750g sweet spot)
*I have had many bakers bake 500g loaves in both and love them!
These are the only basket I use in my baking.
These wood pulp proofing baskets are hand made in Germany, so slight fluctuations in color and size basket to basket are expected.

The proofing baskets I bought were the rounds. I made sure I followed the initial instructions to get them ready for the first use. I added more flour before adding the dough and made the baskets totally nonstick. The dough was very sticky and the money you pay for these things are worth every penny. Thank you for a great tool.

I won this proofing basket in a giveaway and it is my FAVORITE sourdough baking tool. I get a nice surface to cut every time. It has also saved many an over proofed loaf that would not have given me a rise if cold fermented in another baton. My sourdough dough also keeps longer in the fridge in this basket which allows me to do a double batch. Bake one loaf right away and bake the second one 3 days or so later with excellent results. Truly a game changer for a busy mom of two small children!
A second one is on my Christmas list.
