I offer two shapes of proofing basket, a round and an oval . My go-to size is an 875g oval, but hey, some prefer the round!
The oval basket is for loaves 750 – 1000g (875g sweet spot)
The round is for loaves 650 – 900g (750g sweet spot)
*I have had many bakers bake 500g loaves in both and love them!
These are the only basket I use in my baking.
These wood pulp proofing baskets are hand made in Germany, so slight fluctuations in color and size basket to basket are expected.

I bought the 2 pack with the bread mats. I kept one and gave the other to my sister as a bday present (she has a small business selling sourdough bread). I loved it so much I ordered myself another set. They are game-changers ! Scoring is so much easier and I find the dough holds the shape better-I guess because of the moisture wicking wood. I can’t wait to see what my sister thinks on her next bake day.

I’ve been baking sourdough for almost 3 years and have a small collection of 18 bannetons from various places. Several weeks ago I wanted to add to the collection and ordered 2 of these. Not to be wasteful, but now I want to get rid of all my old ones and replace them with 18 more of these! The only reason I ever choose to not use them now is because I want them to stay in perfect condition because they are PERFECT!!! I can’t recommend them enough 👏👏👏
