I offer two shapes of proofing basket, a round and an oval . My go-to size is an 875g oval, but hey, some prefer the round!
The oval basket is for loaves 750 – 1000g (875g sweet spot)
The round is for loaves 650 – 900g (750g sweet spot)
*I have had many bakers bake 500g loaves in both and love them!
These are the only basket I use in my baking.
These wood pulp proofing baskets are hand made in Germany, so slight fluctuations in color and size basket to basket are expected.

I recently started my sourdough journey and got an inexpensive kit from you know who. It came with 2 decent cane baskets and an awful lame but they did the job. I had been wanting try a wood pulp proofing basket. Then I saw the bread mat on several videos and checked online. I ordered mats for myself and my son and decided to get a basket to try it. I ordered the only one available, a round one. I prefer ovals. OMG I love it!! What a difference, now I HAD to have the ovals, I kept checking back until I saw the ovals available. I ordered 2 for my son ( he’s in a different state) and 2 for myself. Love the quality of the baskets and the bread mats with the long handles.

These proofing baskets provide a tighter dough and holds its shape very well after being pulled from the refrigerate over night. I will never go back to the traditional baskets. Using traditional proofing baskets with liners gave me excessive anxiety. These are such great alternatives! No fuss, reusable, and safe to make bread for the whole family. Now if the oval ones can be back in stock so I can get them as well…
