OVALS AND ROUNDS!

Both sizes perfectly fit The BreadMat. YES, you can use an oval basket with a round BreadMat. It fits perfectly, because I designed it that way 🙌

I’m so excited to be the only person (that I know of) offering these sizes and shapes (750-1000g oval and 650-950 round) proofing baskets in the US.

I fell in love with wood pulp proofing baskets while living in the UK and I am pleased to be able to bring them back with me to the US.

Description

Wood pulp proofing baskets have been used in European bakeries for over 100 years; for good reason!

  • They absorb moisture evenly, creating crispier crust
  • They are environmentally friendly, made from sustainable wood pulp
  • They are easy to clean, just allow them to dry completely between uses
  • Their thick walls offer thermal insulation, limiting dough temperature fluctuations
  • They are sturdy and have a professional look and feel
  • They last a lifetime

I offer two shapes of proofing basket, a round and an oval . My go-to size is an 875g oval, but hey, some prefer the round!

The oval basket is for loaves 750 – 1000g (875g sweet spot)
The round is for loaves 650 – 900g (750g sweet spot)
*I have had many bakers bake 500g loaves in both and love them!

These are the only basket I use in my baking.

These wood pulp proofing baskets are hand made in Germany, so slight fluctuations in color and size basket to basket are expected.

Return Policy:

I love these in both shapes
The best proofing baskets I have ever used. Just a light dusting with 50-50 hote and rice flours and I get a perfect release and a beautiful surface for scoring.

Newbie at sourdough baking, I went through several frustrating months of doughs not holding shape. Purchased these wood pulp bannetons; they have made baking bread so much easier!!
Doughs come out of the banneton smoother & absorbs excess moisture without drying them out! I’ve had so many successful loaves now thanks to RHS!!!

I had bought the oval proofing basket last year as I was just getting into sourdough, and loved it so much that I knew I had to go back and get some round bowls as well!

The bowls are sturdy and do a great job of proofing bread without sticking and excess moisture. I’ve tried other methods (oiling a regular bowl, using a towel with flour and a basket) and I always end up with bread that sticks to the container and gets deflated when I try to move it out to bake. I have never had an issue using these proofing baskets. They’re simply the best!

I just learned how to make sour dough bread. I first tried proofing baskets i bought on Amazon. I didn’t like the marks they made on the bread. I’m so happy i found Rose Hills. These proofing baskets are the best. Great instruction came with the baskets on how to season them. My loaves come out perfectly. I’m trying to buy more but they sell out fast. I also love all the tips on the website. Highly recommend.
