I cannot recommend the Lodge 5 Qt. Combo Cooker or the Lodge 5qt Dutch Oven as the diameter is too small and the uncoated rough interior can cause wear on the mat which can shorten its longevity. If you already own one of these, I recommend purchasing the Lodge 3.2 Qt. Combo Cooker and using the base of that (which perfectly fits The BreadMat) with the deeper side of the Combo Cooker or Dutch Oven as a lid.

The BreadMat™ is a reusable parchment paper replacement. It is shaped to fit the majority of popular baking vessels.

Strong handles make moving bread in and out of a hot oven easier and safer than using parchment.

The unique patented design enhances heat distribution, evening color and reducing burns.

It is made from LFGB platinum food-safe silicone and is rated to 500F.

The BreadMat will reduce dark spots and encourage even baking on the bottom of your loaf, but if it still too dark after using The BreadMat, it is recommended to place a heavy baking sheet on the bottom rack of your oven to act as a heat shield to further reduce darkening and to protect your BreadMat from excessive heat.

    Well, to be frank, I was kind of a skeptic, having been baking for years. What would I need with a gimmick like this? But I needed some suggestions for a Christmas gift I would actually use, so I got my husband to order one for me.

    Well, color me wrong for my skepticism! The Bread Mat saves me from using so much parchment paper, it makes getting bread out of my large Le Creuset less nerve-wracking, it improves the quality of the bottom crust, and it is a great surface for the final proofing as well. Five star product for sure, and even better, from a company I can feel good about supporting. Jeff Bezos is rich enough as it is, he doesn’t need my money!

    I’m a long time user of The Bread Mat and cannot recommend them enough! I have several V2s and -Ls and they’re both great. I use my V2s to bake in a Great Jones dutch oven and the -Ls to bake in a large 7qt dutch oven. I love that The Bread Mat eliminates the need for parchment paper which saves a ton of waste and the bottoms of my loaves no longer burn. A must have for any baker!

    The bread mat was a gift for my daughter and she’s so happy with it. She’s was using parchment but really wanted a reusable mat so this has been absolutely perfect. It’s really easy to clean and she even thinks the bread has been better since using it. I’m so glad I found this site!

    I waited to use the bread mat a 2nd time before writing a review. It’s great with my Challenger pan. It slides in easily with the handle. I wasn’t sure if the handles are supposed to hang outside or stay in. Doesn’t seem to matter. Easy to clean and no more slightly burnt pieces of parchment paper to toss. I’ve since ordered the proofing basket and look forward to using it.
