Slice of Summer is a grassroots summer-long pizza-making campaign backed by home pizza cooks across the US.
Our goal is to raise awareness about food insecurity and raise funds for Slice Out Hunger. Slice Out Hunger is a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization that uses donated food from independent pizzerias around the country to raise money for local hunger relief organizations.
This summer, my fellow home pizza makers and I are joining the cause and helping to raise funds for Slice Out Hunger. Our goal is to raise an ambitious $100,000 over the course of the next 10 weeks!
How? By making and sharing pizza of course!
This effort is as grassroots as it gets. We aren’t backed by any organizations. This isn’t even being run by Slice Out Hunger; we approached them about it! It’s all about making pizza for the members of our community with the hope of raising awareness and funds along the way.
If you want to help us hit our goal, please donate using our GoFundMe page!
If you are a pizza maker and want to help out, please start with the Start Here Guide, then fill in the Registration Form below, and check out our Google Drive for all the resources you may need for throwing an awesome event!
